Hello, my name is Madelaine, and I’m passionate about growing food organically. It is art, freedom, and life.
I was born and raised in the wild backwoods of the Pacific Northwest. I grew up with a love for the outdoors, hard work, and self sufficiency. Cape Breton Island became home as a young adult. I started growing food for my family and for others. It has been a very rewarding experience. Presently, I care for a 5,000sq.ft (and expanding!) garden, on a homestead near Sydney.
My partner is my biggest supporter, and our children inspire me to live simple and have fun in the process. In the garden, I use regenerative practices, such as mulch, crop rotation, high density planting, companion plants, and minimal tilling.
All food from my garden is grown without the use of synthetic fertilizer, pesticides, or herbicides. Growing and eating local organic food is empowering, and I want to share that with you. Let’s eat real food, connect with nature, and thrive like we are meant to! I’m looking forward to sharing the abundance with you!
