About Us
The Cape Breton Farmers' Market (CBFM) aims to facilitate economic growth and sustainability for local food and craft producers encouraging more people to live, work and grow in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. The CBFM is a not-for-profit co-operative that has been in operation for almost thirty years.
Evolving from an outdoor seasonal market to Nova Scotia's only year-round indoor farmers' market outside of Halifax. We attract more than a thousand visitors weekly from all over the island. The CBFM is the largest market of its kind servicing producers and customers in Cape Breton. We are home to approximately 50 full-time vendors and many more casual and seasonal vendors. Our market hosts meat, egg and produce farmers, food and beverage producers, cooks, bakers, herbalists, apiarists, jewelers, wood-workers, and various other artisans and crafters.
CBFM promotes, supports, and enhances the development of the local food and artisan industry, while promoting sustainability, healthy eating, and community.
